We’re so totally in love with space adventures, that we tend to forget that rockets are nasty machines that consume tons of fuel in mere seconds. But it is only logical when faced with having to escape the gravity of our planet. We could of course, look at more “creative” options, like floating away into the upper atmosphere on a balloon.
Bloon concept is a giant balloon that could theoretically take passengers for a joyride some 36 kilometers above the Earth’s surface. Such a leisurely pace would also warrant some comfort for the passengers who could relax, have meals and drinks, and soak in the panoramic views. Bloon uses Helium to stay afloat, so it would have very little by way of pollution, noise or propellants.
