Soda Bottles Make a Colorful Green Canopy

Amount of soda bottles that go into trash each year is a big big number. Obviously, anything that can be done to reduce this number is welcome, encouraged and applauded as far as we are concerned. Recyling and reuse should be the cornerstone of any such effort, so we find the (Pop)culture installation by Garth Britzman to be particularly interesting and appealing.

The soda bottles are suspended by strings and filled with colorful liquid to create a colorful wave. The entire project intends to bring attention to recycling and reuse, through the general, and more importantly, through the alternative creative route.

How to? Are they suspended from a grid? Need to know how this is done structurally. Also, what is the longevity of the liquid? Wouldn’t algae grow rapidly?
